PHYSICAL THERAPY

Physical Therapy is an allied health profession dedicated to using scientific physical procedures in the treatment of patients with a developmental delay, disability, disease, or injury in order to achieve functional rehabilitation and to prevent malfunction or deformity. Physical Therapists treat patients throughout the lifespan.  Treatments are designed to minimize residual physical disability, to hasten convalescence and to promote fitness, comfort and well-being.

Pediatric Physical Therapy

Pediatric Physical Therapy focuses on helping children achieve physical health and fitness by supporting  musculo-skeletal, neuro-muscular, and cardio-pulmonary development.  Physical therapists often utilize playful activities along with specific interventions such as exercise, stretching, massage, electrical stimulation, heat, water, and mobilization to help children develop motor coordination, enhance posture and stability and to support mobility.  Splinting, bracing, orthotics and kinesio-taping are also used for children who require these aids for posture and mobility.
